Orders with items from different facilities (e.g. a blanket and a magnet) ship in separate packages; each package has its own shipping cost. We pass through exactly what we are charged—no markup.
A Note on Logistical Rounding: Shipping is a volatile variable. To keep our checkout process high-fidelity and simple, we round shipping to the nearest dollar or half-dollar. If we collect an extra amount on a given order, that change is held in the Forge Buffer to offset the times a carrier raises rates unexpectedly. We do not treat shipping as a profit center; we treat it as a shared utility.

Q: I saw the actual shipping label was $5.87, but I paid $6.00. Where is my $0.13?
A: That amount remains in the Lumavel ecosystem to protect other citizens. Shipping rates fluctuate daily. Rather than changing our prices every hour to match carrier whims, we use a flat-rate buffer. This ensures that when shipping for a heavy item unexpectedly jumps, we can absorb that cost for the next citizen without raising prices. The math is transparent, and the goal is a collective zero-sum.
