The Light of Alexandria

A public-good knowledge archive — verified, sourced, non-commercial

The Light of Alexandria is Lumavel's long-term initiative to preserve and connect knowledge the way civilization deserves: with provenance, independent sources, and no pay-to-win truth. It is not a social feed, a wiki anyone can edit for engagement, or a storefront dressed as scholarship. It is built as a reference layer — for learners, researchers, and the honestly curious.

Why it sits under Pillar 10 (Education)

Pillar 10 is Education (The Guild) — the apprenticeship of civilization: skills, clarity, and access to structured learning. A trustworthy archive of facts and relationships is foundational to that mission. The Academy teaches paths and practice; Alexandria holds the map of what we can show is true and how we know it.

It also aligns with Pillar 15 — The Data Sanctuary: no ad-tech surveillance, no dark funnels — the same “nothing to hide” posture we take when we say the user is not the product.

What makes it different

  • ·Verification tiers — Bronze through Platinum — describe how much independent corroboration an entry has, not popularity or outrage.
  • ·Sources and timestamps — the goal is traceability: you can see what supports a claim and when it was recorded.
  • ·Non-commercial by design — no ads, no affiliate bait, no “sign up to unlock truth.”

Roadmap (on the live site)

The public site documents planned experiences — knowledge map, learning modes, optional narration, themes — as coming soon placeholders so the direction is visible. The core archive and search grow with ingestion and review, not hype cycles.

Technical and admin operations live in the monorepo app alexandria-lumavel; this page is the mission story on lumavel.co.

“We don't rent your attention to fund a library. We build the library so truth has a room of its own.”
