Email marketing basics
A simple list, honest subject lines, and emails people actually open.
Why email still matters
You own the list — unlike social feeds, email reaches people who asked to hear from you. For sellers, it's perfect for launches, restocks, and seasonal offers.
Start small
- One clear signup (website footer, order thank-you, or QR at a booth).
- Tell people what they'll get: "Monthly new prints" beats "Subscribe for updates."
Write like a person
- Subject: Specific and honest — "Three new maze packs this week" not "NEWSLETTER #47."
- Body: One main point, one link, one action.
- Frequency: Weekly or monthly is fine; consistency beats daily noise.
Legal basics
Use a provider that handles unsubscribe links. Only email people who opted in. Don't buy lists.
Measure lightly
Open and click rates help you learn; one good email beats ten perfect analytics dashboards.
